Late Night Ponderings

Before I went to bed tonight, it struck me how much of our lives are filtered and how little we know about the people we see every day. everything you see online of someone has been somehow mentally approved by that person before they posted it. they always hold up some sort of online persona that can only be changed when they desire to do so. The entire world is taking leaps towards larger and larger advancements in technology and it is only making this problem bigger. My guess is that before Facebook, Blogger, Instagram, Etc. this problem was still there but it was much less of a problem and more of a small issue. The reason I think this is because trying to hide things in person is much harder that through text on a screen. What you type doesn't carry any emotion, it only causes the reader to think and construct their own reasoning for what you wrote. Sure it can be right, the process of doing so is even a lit technique, tone.
What I'm trying to say is that our society is heading in a new direction, and the possibilities of people living double-lives is more and more real with each passing day.
